Pickleball for All doubles tournaments are commonly organized using a lively King of the Court format.
How King of the Court works
Players begin across several courts and play short rounds to a set score or time limit. After each round, winning teams move toward the top or “King’s” court, while the other teams rotate in the opposite direction. Depending on the event, partners may stay together or split and rotate.
The format keeps everyone active, creates frequent new matchups and rewards consistency, communication and adaptability. Players try to reach the top court and then hold their position against the next challengers.
Typical event flow
- Players are assigned starting courts.
- Each round is played to a set score or time limit.
- Winners advance toward the King’s Court.
- Other teams rotate to new opponents.
- Final standings recognize the strongest performers.
Exact scoring, partner rotations and court movement may be adjusted for the number and skill level of participants.
